Each February at KGD, we take time to learn about and understand key aspects and accomplishments of various luminaries, especially those in architecture, planning and design. This year's Black History Month marks 100 years of highlighting the contributions of African Americans to the United States and the world.

As this month draws to a close, we want to honor the legacy and impact of three visionary Black architects who have shaped the Greater Washington-Baltimore region’s built environment – Calvin T.S. Brent, Phil Freelon, and Martha Cassell Thompson. 🖤🏛️
