KGD congratulates Associate and Designer Nia Furr on becoming a Licensed Architect in the District of Columbia!
Since joining KGD over five years ago, Nia has become a trusted colleague who is integral in supporting our clients in the residential and multifamily markets of the DMV. For example, she led the construction administration on The Fortitude at Delta Towers multifamily project in the District while working simultaneously as designer on the Westminster Church Living project and Phase II of the Elizabeth Square development in Silver Spring, Maryland. She is also using her skills to develop inventive designs with focus ranging on the smallest interior details to the exterior facade design. KGD Principal and Co-President Chris Gordon says, "Nia, who is a graduate of Howard University, mentors our firm's young architects and designers, and most importantly, serves as one of our studio leaders in establishing KGD standards for professional growth and development as well as project deliverables."
Currently, Nia is part of the Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program Class of 2024. This initiative was launched in 2013 by the AIA|DC Chapter to help train and nurture the next generation of industry leaders. Nia is among 16 emerging professionals who will graduate later this year once the year-long program concludes.
