The National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA) is a nonprofit serving as the premier advocate for equity and inclusion within architecture and design, representing a growing collective of students and professionals throughout the United States. The 55th NOMA Annual Conference was hosted by NOMA South Florida in Aventura. The conference is more than a gathering; it is the heartbeat of a movement.

This year, KGD Principal & Co-President Manoj Dalaya, Associate Principal & Interiors Director Larry J. Henderson II, and Associate Ava Helm presented with Arup Principal Gregory Giammalvo and Associate Linda Toth. The session, titled "WELL Gold High Security: Designing Mission Resilience in a Secure Workplace," used a two-tower workplace that achieved WELL Gold in 2023 for a high-security environment integrated within a mixed-use community. The program also shared design and material strategies that supported occupant well-being for this project and how these aspects can be applied to similar projects and environments.
