As we continue to recount our 30 years with KGD, we look back on 2021 when the TV show Squid Game first aired.
Squid Game is a viral Korean series where people in debt compete in high-stakes childhood games that become physically and mentally dangerous, all for a huge cash prize. In the years that followed, Squid Game became the first non-English series to win a major Primetime Emmy. It picked up six wins, including Outstanding Lead Actor (Lee Jung-jae), Outstanding Directing (Hwang Dong-Hyuk), and Outstanding Guest Actress (Lee-Yoomi). It is also the first non-English series to win major acting honors at the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards.
Since its airing in 2021, the show has become a household favorite and a frequent topic of conversation in our office. So today, in our DC studio, we asked everyone who they think in our office would win the Squid Game.
