Last week, KGD led a tour of The Leggett and Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center (SSRAC) for ULI Washington Leadership Institute for their onsite meeting with notable guest speakers and local experts in the fields of zoning, affordable housing finance, public engagement, and commercial to residential conversions. Program participants had an exclusive, first-hand look at the benefits of intentionally integrating health, recreation, and affordable housing with behind-the-scenes tours of SSRAC and The Leggett – an affordable housing development for senior citizens.

As KGD Associate Principal Alex Shifflett shared, “Afsana and I had the pleasure of giving the ULI Washington Leadership group a tour of The Leggett and SSRAC. They were so engaged and thoughtful with their questions. This project brings us so much joy in knowing that it impacts many people's lives and provides necessary programs and community space for Montgomery County residents. We are very happy to hear when someone wants to come back and use the center after a tour.”
