KGD Architecture is an award-winning design practice headquartered in Washington, DC, with additional offices in Arlington, Virginia; Boston, Massachusetts; and Bangkok, Thailand. Our work spans architecture, urban planning, and interior design, with a portfolio that includes commercial, residential, hospitality, mixed-use, institutional, and secure government projects across the United States and internationally.

We are seeking a Construction Contract Administrator with 3-5 years of experience and a licensed architect. This is a key role for our Washington, DC studio for candidates eager to contribute to impactful, design-driven work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.

Essential Duties + Responsibilities

  • Supports the development, administration, and coordination of construction contract documents on a varying range of projects.
  • Reviews construction documents, including Division 01, General and Supplemental Conditions, agreements, submittals, substitutions, payment applications, change proposals, and RFIs.
  • Supports site observations and inspections to ensure quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Contributes to project bidding, procurement, and negotiation processes.
  • Liaises with project management, other architects, and consultants.
  • Coordinates with the Project Director and Project Manager on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.

Qualifications

  • Holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • Has 3-5 years of professional experience.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with construction documents and project delivery processes with exposure to CSI practices or CCCA principles considered a bonus.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates a collaborative, proactive attitude that is essential for this key project role.
  • Technology: Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) a plus.
  • Licensure preferred or in active pursuit, LEED accreditation a plus.
